Simply rustic oak sell a wide range of bespoke handmade fully assembled solid rustic oak furniture for your home. Oak will exhibit variations in colour, grain pattern and tone within individual pieces of furniture. This is not a fault but a natural characteristic of the material. Oak will also change colour as it ages. Again this is not a fault but part of the inherent characteristics of the material. Green Oak furniture will crack and split as the timber settles, and is completely normal, it is best to keep the furniture away from direct heat eg. a radiator, try to keep room temperature not to warm until furniture has settled. Oak furniture will also swell in damp conditions and shrink in hot, dry conditions. Please do not subject your oak furniture to areas which attract strong sunlight and heat such as conservatories. What finish can I have on my furniture? You have a choice of four finishes, natural, medium, dark oak wax or oiled . garden furniture is oiled. However you can purchase your furniture unfinished. Waxed furniture requires regular wax treatments to preserve its appearance. The wax is merely a coating on bare wood, and as such the wood will exhibit shiny marks where the wax may have been rubbed. This is natural and unavoidable. No wooden product is entirely stain or heat resistant, although a oiled product offers slightly greater protection. Avoid spilling liquids (including toiletries or beauty products), or placing drinks directly onto the furniture. |
